Men's Lacrosse Suffers Tough Loss at Beloit

BELOIT, Wis. - Sophomore goalkeeper Kyle Mullins racked up 23 saves, but the University of Dubuque men's lacrosse team fell at Beloit, 18-0, on Saturday afternoon.

The Spartans (0-2) faced a quick 3-0 deficit through the first four minutes of the game and couldn't recover as Beloit ran away. UD goalkeeper Mullins played all 60 minutes and faced 41 shots on the day.

UD held their own after holding Beloit (1-1) to 0-for-5 on man up situations, but turned it over 36 times and trailed in the shot count, 62-21. Freshman attack Michael Julius attempted a team-high eight shots, including four shots on goal, and led a Spartan attack that put 10 of 21 shots on target.

The Spartans host their first CCIW contest at home on Saturday, March 12 against Carthage College at 2:00 p.m.
