University of Dubuque Arts & Music Events – Spring 2015

The University of Dubuque will host a series of arts and music events throughout the months of March and April 2015.
Events throughout the month feature involvement by faculty, staff, and students including annual spring Concert Choir and Chamber Singers Concerts, performances by the UD Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble, the Spring theatre production of Pippin, a faculty recital, and multiple visual arts exhibits.

Spring Dance Concert: HerStories
HerStories is a journey told through dance and theatre where members of the UD Fineand Performing Arts Department, The Adrian Dance Company, and the Spartanettes Dance Ensemble
reveal personal and universal truths about the world they occupy.

Spring Faculty Recital
Solo, duet, trio and quartet performances by University of Dubuque instrumental music faculty members. Performers in the 2015 Faculty Recital include James Sherry, Marcia Martin, Wes Luke, Heather Huckleberry, Wendy Hinman, Bang Lang Do, Nicholas Bratcher, and Eric Amweg.

UD Wind Ensemble Spring Concert: Legend
Legend will feature musicians from the University of Dubuque Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Nicholas Bratcher, and the wind ensemble of Clarke University, under the direction of David Resnick. The Wind Ensembles will present works from composers McBeth, King, Pann, and others.

Features the music of the UD Concert Choir, directed by Dr. Charles Barland and the UD Chamber Singers, directed by Professor Kristen Eby.

Julien Chamber Winds Spring Concert
The chamber wind ensemble is comprised of professional musicians and educators from the Tri-State area and is conducted by Nicholas Bratcher. The Julien Chamber Winds will feature performances by Kurka, Persichetti, and Paganini as well as smaller chamber ensemble works performed by the players.

This concert is a celebration of the past and the present. God is still performing the same miracles, still leading the same people and still teaching the same word! We are all members of one body and we must find and use our gift(s) for the edifying of the body of Christ.
