PELLA, Iowa - The University of Dubuque softball team dropped a pair of American Rivers Conference games on Tuesday afternoon to the Central College Dutch by a 5-7 score in the opener and once again 5-7 in the nightcap. In game one, UD scored five runs off 10 hits and committed three errors. In the second game, the Spartans garnered five runs off eight hits and committed two errors.

Four Spartans would end game one with two hits each. Kaylin Featheringill went 2-4, Kylee Biedermann 2-2, Deanna Origer 2-4, and Rachel Trader 2-4. UD would leave nine runners on base and Kayla Breunig would take the loss after throwing three inninngs and allowing three earned runs while striking out five Dutch batters.

Game two Brandy Heraty was the lone multi-hit Spartan. She went 2-3 at the plate with a game leading four RBI's after sending one ball deep over the left field fence in the first inning. It was Heraty's sixth homerun of the season which tied her for the school record. Once again UD would strand nine runners on base and Lexi Schmidt faced 29 batters and would be credited with the loss after allowing just two earned runs.

The Spartans continue a busy Easter Week schedule by facing the Cornell College Rams in Mount Vernon on Wednesday, April 17 at 4 p.m. before retuning home to host the Buena Vista University Beavers on Good Friday, April 19 at 1 p.m.
