McDaniel Named A-R-C Men's Hoops Player of Week

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - After helping knock off the 19th-ranked team in the nation and setting a school record against the #1 team in the nation, Marcus McDaniel has been selected as the American Rivers Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
In UD's win over rival and #19 Loras College, McDaniel scored 20 points on seven of 12 shooting from the field and seven rebounds. On Saturday against top ranked Nebraska Wesleyan, McDaniel poured in a single game school record of nine three pointers on 15 attempts. McDaniel finished with 32 points in the loss after having 24 in the first half.
For the week, McDaniel averaged 26 points, 3.50 rebounds and 1.50 assists. This is the first Player of the Week accolade for McDaniel and the second for the Spartans this season, joining Avery Butler on the list.
McDaniel and the Spartans are back in action on Wednesday when they play at Luther College. Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m.
