Men's Basketball Hold Norse Winless in League Play

DECORAH, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's basketball started a busy week of basketball with a road win over the Luther College Norse 82-67. The Spartan victory kept the Norse winless in the Iowa Conference 0-7 and 4-11 overall.
Jamaree Atwater led UD with 26 points and T.J. Lake added 18 points. Michael Williams finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds. The Spartans sank 23-59 shots from the field (39.0%), 14-32 from the three point area (43.8%), and made 22-28 attempts from the charity stripe (78.6%). UD's bench was out scored 25-16, but the Spartans held the slim advantage in rebounding 36-34.
The Spartans took advantage of the Norse 14 turnovers and would score 19 points off the miscues.
UD (1-6 in IIAC, 9-7 overall) will now prepare for the Coe College Kohawks (2-5 in IIAC, 6-10 overall)on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 8:00 p.m. Coe lost to Nebraska Wesleyan 69-85 on Monday night.
