New Logo for University of Dubuque: The Diamond University
Sep 9, 2016 | A Message from President Jeffrey F. Bullock
If you have had the opportunity to receive a message in some form from the University of Dubuque, you may have noticed a change in the University’s logotype. The University’s logo in some strategic uses has received an important addition. To the stacked and linear form of the logo, we have added the line, The Diamond University.
For those of you who are wondering why this has been added, we thought it was important to send information regarding this important addition. University of Dubuque: The Diamond University, is a way of visually identifying the element of distinction of UD, making a connection with a comprehensive educational model that is the hallmark of the University.
Being identified as The Diamond University visually articulates features of a comprehensive educational model at UD that is designed to address students’ success through: holistic learning in four areas (academics, stewardship, community and character, and vocation), academic and co-curricular formation, practicing a caringly intrusive form of engagement with students, and qualitative and quantitative assessment. While this modification to the University’s logo may be subtle, its purpose is to identify UD as one of the best small, private Christian colleges and universities.
For additional information about the Diamond Educational Model, please see our website, Diamond Brochure. The application and implementation of this logo will appear in phases as we identify proper instances of its use.
