UD to Host 17th Annual Senior All-Star Spotlight Track and Field Meet

The University of Dubuque and will be the host site to the 17th Annual Senior All-Star Spotlight Track and Field Meet. The Senior Spotlight meet, also known as the Senior "All-Star" meet, brings together the top high school senior track and field student-athletes from Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin to compete head to head. This two-day event has been promoting great competition and camaraderie to the high school student-athletes in a college atmosphere since 1999.

Spartans Place 28 on Spring All-Academic IIAC Team

University of Dubuque Inducts Two Members to Faculty Hall of Fame

The University of Dubuque inducted two new members into its Faculty Hall of Fame on Thursday, April 30, 2015. Rasika Mudalige-Jayawickrama, associate professor of natural and applied sciences, was recognized with the John Knox Coit Prize, and Annette Bourland Huizenga, assistant professor of New Testament, was recognized with the William L. Lomax Award.

UD for KIDS – Summer 2015

The summer 2015 UD for KIDS program is in full swing – bringing young students from first through seventh grade to the University Campus. Grades 1-2 were on campus last week for the program’s first week – June 15-19; grades 3-4 are on campus this week of June 22–26; and grades 5-7 will attend classes July 6-10. Classes are held daily from 12:30-4:00 p.m. at various campus locations.

Women's Basketball Finish Third Nationally in GPA

UD Students to Benefit from 16% Increase in Iowa Tuition Grants

Iowa-native students at the University of Dubuque, as well as other Iowa private colleges, will get a significant boost this upcoming academic year in a key financial aid program, the Iowa Tuition Grant (ITG). The ITG maximum grant has been increased to $5,300, an increase of 16% over last year.

University of Dubuque Selected to Participate in New Consortium on Digital Resources for Teaching and Research

The University of Dubuque has been chosen as one of a select group of 42 institutions nationwide – the only institution in Iowa – by the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) to participate in a Consortium on Digital Resources for Teaching and Research. The Consortium intends to improve teaching and learning, enhance faculty and student/faculty research, and streamline administrative capabilities through a uniform digital system of cataloging important research material collections.

UD Receives TRIO / Student Support Services Grant

The University of Dubuque has once again been selected to receive funding for the U.S. Department of Education TRIO / Student Support Services Program (SSS). This highly competitive grant will provide our University and students with $1.1 million in funding over the next five years. The SSS program provides academic and other support services to low-income, first-generation, and / or students with a disability.

The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) will expand to nine member institutions as league officials announced Monday (July 20) Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Neb., has accepted an invitation to join the conference beginning with the 2016-17 academic year.

Volleyball Named to AVCA Team Academic Award

The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced 755 teams have earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2014-2015 season. This number once again breaks the previous year's total of 687 and sets a new all-time high for this award. The University of Dubuque earned the award for the sixth consecutive season.

University of Dubuque Receives $2000 in Scholarship Funds

The University of Dubuque has received two $1000 American Legion of Iowa Foundation scholarships to support veterans and their family members working to complete their education. The grant recognizes veterans and their family members as American Legion of Iowa Foundation scholarship recipients and provides additional support to cover the costs of higher education not covered by the GI Bill.

Gundlach Named Head Cross Country Coach

UD’s Dodge Veterans Center to Host Navy Seal Swimming to Honor Goldstar Families

During the week of August 10, 2015, Chris Ring, a Navy veteran, will be swimming his way down the Mississippi River. Ring started his swim on the anniversary of D-Day, June 6, and anticipates completing the swim in November. For three days, the University of Dubuque and the Sergeant Jeffrey B. Dodge Veterans Center will host the team.
